Susie Throop is the K-12 Science Coordinator for Marietta City Schools in Marietta, Georgia. She has been in education for 25 years as a classroom teacher, STEM and gifted teacher, and instructional coach. Susie has a passion for education, especially in the areas of math and science. She has won multiple awards including Teacher of the Year, Georgia State Master Teacher, and was a 2014 state finalist for the Presidential Award in Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Susie started her journey with VR and AR while serving as an instructional
coach. After writing a grant and receiving 2 kits of Expedition Goggles for her district, she began taking students on amazing adventures, right from their classrooms. Students and teachers used virtual field trips to travel around the globe and into outer space.
