She received a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and master’s degrees in Educational Computing and School Building Leadership. Mrs. Shields’ role is to assist students, teachers, administrators and staff with integrating technology into our daily educational experiences in meaningful and connected curricular ways. Through her creation of
#OurSTEAMCafe (a learning environment at Ward that fosters exploration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) provides professional development, a community area for collaboration, and shared makerspace resources. It is a pleasure bringing real world opportunities to the hands of our students. Mrs. Shields assists with harnessing the power of the Internet to expand learning beyond the school building. She enjoys bringing hands-on, virtual, and real world learning to both students and staff. As such, she continues to model personal learning and growth development as well by becoming a Google Certified educator, serving on the Discovery Education Leadership Council, attending and presenting at Days of Discovery, and attending the ISTE Conference and DENSI2018 this summer. What Jeannine learns, she shares with others both in person and virtually as a connected educator.
